4/11 FLORAL AND 
TEXTURED BUTTERCREAM CAKE WORKSHOP

In this three hour hands on workshop, learn how to stack, fill, and crumb coat a cake with buttercream, how to create a gorgeous color palette and execute Bon Vivant's signature textured buttercream, and how to safely work with fresh flowers! At the end of the class you'll leave with you own 4 layer mini cake and the skills to continue your cake journey at home.
 

This class is for people with beginner-intermediate skills. 

 

 

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • The basics about buttercream

  • Cake decorating equipment & tools

  • Coloring buttercream with gel colors

  • Stack and fill a cake with buttercream & preserves

  • Applying frosting to achieve a textured buttercream finish

  • Pipping buttercream

  • Working with fresh flowers

 

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED?

  • Cake decorating equipment and tools, cakes, buttercream, preserves, an apron (these are your to use for the day but please leave it behind at the end of the class)

  • Beverages and light snacks provided

 

YOU WILL TAKE HOME:

  • A digital recipe packet containing Bon Vivant's Swiss Meringue Buttercream Recipe, Chocolate Cake Recipe, Cake Building Basics

  • Your beautifully frosted and decorated mini cake (4 layers, 4 inches wide, about 6 inches tall- serves 6!)

  • Resources to continue your cake journey at home

 

WHAT TO WEAR?

We will be supplying a full­-length apron but wear comfy clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting a little frosting on.
